national treasures

Many of treasures of HoRyuJi temple are owned by Tokyo National Museum, because they were donated to the emperor during confusion era of Meiji period. On the contrary its building is super clean modern design by Yoshio Taniguchi ( related page is here )

All treasures were designed for buddism of course, and most of them are more than 1400 years old. Some were made in Japan and some were from China or Korea, so that we can tell several styles in their works.

This figurine is not about dancing but a birth of Budda, you can see tiny baby popping out from under her right arm.
