tower of the sun

Tower of the sun was designed by Taro Okamoto ( related page is here ) for a symbol of EXPO '70 which was quite a big event of Japan I still clearly remenber. It is still standing in the memorial park alone, showing its strong existence.

It is gigantic, and the shape is simple, sculptural, and somehow healthy.

It has three faces, shiny gold one with antenna is on the top, white on the belly and dark blue on the back.
