a mall in a forest

A lovely shopping mall was newly built in a forest of Shinsyu, mountain region of Japan.

Its board walk has a nice detail of wood deck which cut around trees originally grown at the area.

The floor is metal grid near the river, but it still tried to avoid the trees.

When I visited a Ise Shrine last year ( related page is here ), I noticed a building was built trying not to cut trees. No trees are allowed to be cut because gods are believed to be in the nature. Woods used to be holy and respectful in our culture.
