cut glass concept

The front face and the back face of the newly built department store in Ginza Tokyo is quite unique, they have similar shape but use the different materials and textures. I read the news that the concept behind the shape comes from Kiriko glassware which is traditional cutting glass of Tokyo.

The a fascade of the building were elaborately arranged glasses.

And this shot is backside. The slit detail must be for ventilation.
