wooden boxes

This wooden tower is a concept for an apartment by Sou Fujimoto, which has large shared spaces like a dining kichen or a bathroom. The piled boxes are private spaces which may be limited, hoever each room has unique layout and attractive design instead. ( related page is here )

These boxes are another home concept by Jun Igarashi, each box has each purpose for residents as if they are different furniture. So that the owner can choose or freely layout them on his demand. In this meaning, this may be a new style of Metabolism ( related page is here ).

One of my favorite point of this idea is that each end of the boxes have wide openings to outside, and make various atmosphere.

And these boxes are steps in MUJI shack designed by Atelier Bow-Wow, and the backside of the steps, I mean in these boxes, utilized as a storage or a shelf on the ground floor. This shack is designed for a seasonal satellite office which MUJI employees are actually going to use with farmers after this exhibition. ( related page is here )
