supporting structure

The outer corridor of a temple building usually has no pillars, or a single row of pillars at most, but this building has two rows of pillars to support the big roof. I guess the heavy wet snow in this region also makes the structure strong.


You can notice it has very complicated structure when you look up from the outer coridor.


There must be an engineering reason for the complexity of the structure, but the decorative design makes it look even more intricate.
